Eating Healthy On A Limited Budget

4 ways you can save money and be healthy at the same time

Most people complain that they do not eat healthy food simply because it is outside of their budget. It is an excuse most of us use from time to time. We are fond of pushing the blame on circumstances and procrastinating when it comes to taking care of our health. Well, here are 4 simple ways to save money and eat healthily at the same time.

Shop locally
When you go to the farmers market you can find great deals on fresh organic produce. Many times farmers do not want to bring extra produce back with them to the farm. So the strategy I find most efective when it comes to buying from the farmers, is to find them at the later part of the market and make a deal. They are usually willing to build a relationship with you the more consistent your are.

Bulk buying
If you know you will use a large amount of a specific ingredient. Consider getting it wholesale. You can likely do this online, or even consider buying certain ingredients from a wholesaler that your could split with a collective of people.

Less quantity, higher potency foods
As your diet gets cleaner, less food will take you further. I often like to use the analogy of a car. The more efficient the vehicle, the more miles it gets per gallon. Same thing with eating higher potency foods. When you system is clean and you eat foods with more energy, less will get you further.

Urban foraging
This is something you might naturally find yourself doing as an evolution in your diet. Wild food is not only extremely potent, but its extremely free. Get educated on some basic foods that grow locally. Everything from fruit trees that may be in the area, to Dandelions growing in your front yard.
